“We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.”~Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)
Well, you know how it goes–you make plans to do something, and circumstances change, and God comes along and says: “No, you’re going to do this instead.”
And it makes you wonder: “When circumstances change is it just chance happenings?–or human failings?–or is it God at work in ways you don’t yet understand?”
We originally built a structure for the raising of chickens and ducks. We actually have already been raising ducks at Makara’a parents house, and we’ve already sold some too. But, as we’ve moved our church meetings to our house, that structure we built works much better as our new meeting place than a chicken home. So this is how we’ll proceed. In our recent newsletter I mentioned how our home and land has much potential for our future work. So we will follow God’s leading in how we make use of what He has given to us.
Of course there is more work to do, and of course everything is subject to change, but we will move forward one step at a time and trust God to guide our feet.
Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.
~Psalm 119:105
On another note…
Makara and I recently made a trip to Phnom Penh. We put Noah on Makara’s Cambodian passport. He can’t use that to go to Canada, but we can take him to surrounding countries like Thailand though–which we plan to do next week to visit the Victory team there.
I haven’t been to too many different cities, but I have been to some pretty cool ones: Amsterdam, Cologne, Celle, Cairo, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh, Bangkok, and of course Phnom Penh.
I like going to Phnom Penh because, while it still has that “wild Asian” feel to it, it is also quite clean and modern (compared to Poipet).
I especially like sitting at one of the river front restaurants where they serve western food. They’ve even got a restaurant owned by two Dutch guys where they serve Croquette.
Also, because of the French influence from Cambodia’s past, you’ll see some pretty cool European style architecture as well.
Makara and I ask that you please pray for the church in Poipet, and for the steps that God will lead us to take in the future.
God bless!!
