Well, the visas are complete, the passports are ready, and the plane tickets are purchased. Makara and I are coming to Canada in December of this year.
We are looking forward to seeing our family and friends. It’s been almost three years since I’ve been in Canada, and of course Makara has never been there.
December is a cold month, and I would have preferred to have visited during the summer, but I think it will be a good thing for Makara to experience the cold, the snow (if there is any), and to see what Canada looks like during Christmas. That’s one of the things I’m looking forward to the most–the Christmas atmosphere, which you just can’t reproduce in Cambodia.
December is also a good month because the people we want to connect with will actually be around. In the summer so many people are away on holidays. Makara and I really want to connect with people and share our long-term vision for Poipet.
It’s still five months away, but for us, being as busy as we are and will be in the second half of 2012, it may as well be next week!
We are looking forward to meeting up with some of you who have been following our progress in Cambodia.
See you in December!
Lots of people on the Canada end looking forward to you coming as well – it will be a great refresher for you guys and your sending church and family. Blessings!
where in Canada will you be?
We’ll be spending most of our time in Edmonton.
Great to hear that you have everything you need for your trip! It sounds like you are excited about it. Woo hoo!!
Thanks Pip! Yeah, we are excited–and Makara is a little nervous (first time out of Asia, first time on a plane, first time experiencing temperatures under 20 degrees, and first time in a country mostly inhabited by white people). But it’ll be a great time!
